Please note: Due to the natural properties of rubber, it is challenging to ensure that FH Group rubber floor mats will be completely odorless upon arrival. The odor comes from compounds trapped within the rubber, which will gradually dissipate over time.
Rubber car mats emit a distinct smell because they are made from rubber. Some individuals may find this odor bothersome, while others may not. If you notice a scent from the rubber car mats, it is due to the release of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Almost all smells originate from VOCs, and as these compounds are exposed to air, their release slows down, and the odor fades. This process is entirely natural and non-toxic.
To help reduce the initial odor, allow the car mats to air out for a few hours before installation, ideally in direct sunlight.
